Consulting, data work and analysis for sustainable decisions

I support you when an idea, a political objective, or a complex data situation needs to be turned into a viable project and a reliable basis for decision-making.

Support from the start

I will clarify with you what data, methods, and steps are necessary for you to technically review, coordinate, pursue, and successfully address a research question.

01Sharpen the question
02Check data access
03Make use of the results

From the occasion to the foundation

Creating a solid foundation from distributed information

Relevant information in urban development, mobility, and freight transport is often scattered, incomplete, or available in different spatial contexts. I step in where the task definition, data basis, and evaluation need to be brought together.

Performance areas

What I am specifically taking over

Depending on the assignment, I will support you with individual work steps or accompany you on the entire journey from the initial project definition to a usable foundation.

01

Project development and
Concept

I will support you in translating objectives, starting positions, and open questions into a viable course of action. This is particularly helpful when a topic is already professionally or politically relevant, but the precise project scope has not yet been determined.

What I do for you

  • I sharpen questions and make them actionable.
  • I develop suitable data and methods approaches.
  • I am structuring project logic, work packages and roles.
  • I understand the technical aspects of funding, application and tender logic.
02

Data Access, Collection and Preparation

Relevant data is rarely readily available. I tap into existing sources, design my own surveys, and consolidate different datasets into a usable format.

What I do for you

  • I access public, internal administrative, or project-specific data sources.
  • I devise questionnaires, interviews, observations or other primary surveys.
  • I am consolidating and validating heterogeneous datasets.
  • I structure indicators, spatial references and data slices in a comprehensible way.
03

Analysis, evaluation and expert classification

I categorise data by subject matter and derive reliable assessments from it. This includes spatial analysis, structured comparisons, monitoring, potential assessments, and the transparent presentation of uncertainties.

What I do for you

  • I conduct location, potential, and impact analyses.
  • I am building or further developing monitoring and indicator systems.
  • I will identify spatial patterns, differences, and areas requiring action.
  • I am evaluating results in the context of planning, management, and implementation.
04

Usable results and further progress

I prepare results so that they are not only suitable for a report. Where it makes sense, I create reproducible data bases, clear visualisations, dashboards or other formats that you can continue to use after the project has ended.

What I do for you

  • I create maps, graphics, reports, and decision templates.
  • I design dashboards and interactive analyses.
  • I am preparing results for voting, participation, or communication.
  • I am preparing transferable methods and extensible foundations.

Working method

Direct, professional, and with consideration for later use.

As an independent office, I work with short lines of communication and direct responsibility. You speak directly with the person who manages the technical work and interprets the results.

It is important to me that you gain a clear understanding: What is reliable? What data is missing? Which assumptions are plausible? What are the next sensible steps?

Methods

I apply methods and tools appropriate to the task. This includes spatial analyses with GIS applications such as QGIS, statistical evaluations, data preparation and data integration, as well as BI and dashboard tools such as Tableau. Depending on the question, I supplement this work with surveys, observations, or other data collection formats.

I use artificial intelligence where it is technically sensible: for more efficient structuring, evaluation, and further development of work processes, not as a replacement for expert judgment. This allows results, applications, and data sets to be better maintained and used for longer.

My values for collaboration

Good results come from clear, reliable collaboration. That's why I value an open approach to the data, assumptions, limitations, and next steps.

Networks and Partners

Many tasks can be handled leanly and directly. If a project requires additional expertise, I activate established networks and partners. This allows the work to be expanded with the right expertise without losing clear responsibility within the project.

Tableau and Dashboards

Interactive evaluations when results need to remain usable.

I use Tableau when data is not just to be evaluated once, but needs to be explored, filtered, compared, or developed further. What's crucial is not the tool itself, but the combination of data preparation, subject-matter contextualisation, and a presentation that remains usable in project day-to-day work.

Publicly accessible examples are available on Tableau Public; further applications are documented in the project descriptions.

Tableau Specialist

Certification, multi-year project experience, and continuous work with interactive evaluations.

  • Structure, check, and prepare data for analysis
  • Create dashboards with filters, maps, and key figures
  • Provide results for monitoring, updating, or publishing
