Project description

In Berlin and many other places, processes of revaluation and displacement have been attracting a great deal of attention for some time now, and not only from the media, thus changing perception and increasing the importance of the instruments available.

In order to support the district's activities to control and design desired upgrading processes and to prevent undesired displacement processes, the Senate Department for Urban Development investigated which indicators can measure upgrading and displacement, among other things to be able to evaluate social and structural changes in the Berlin neighbourhoods.

I was responsible for the conception of the indicators, the data acquisition, their calculation and the visualization.
