National Country Sheets for ReMuNet project

For the ReMuNet project, a catalogue of national data sheets on intermodal transport is being created in 17 European countries. Quantitative and qualitative information on traffic volumes, market players, authorities, and legal frameworks is being researched, processed, and visualised as comparable profiles.

Project description

What this project is about

The ReMuNet – Resilient Multimodal Freight Transport Network – project is co-funded by the EU within the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Actions programme. It identifies and reports disruptions and assesses their impacts on multimodal transport corridors. ReMuNet coordinates route usage, proposes transhipment points, and optimises capacity allocation to minimise damage and shorten recovery time.

My client, UIRR, is a partner of the ReMuNet project. UIRR must develop a standardised framework for describing European intermodal transport networks and conduct studies and surveys among combined transport stakeholders to identify relevant market requirements. Together with SGKV, I am supporting UIRR on a subcontract basis with parts of its project tasks.

In close cooperation with the UIRR and in division of labour with the SGKV, I am compiling a catalogue of “national data sheets” for intermodal transport for 17 countries along two corridors of the trans-European transport network. This catalogue is intended to contain valuable information, such as traffic volumes, active market participants (combined transport operators, railway undertakings…), main contact persons in authorities (ministries, parliament, regulatory authorities…), important legislation, etc.

For this, we research and collect quantitative and qualitative data, process it and visualise it in profiles. The project language is English. Note: The project description was created together with the client and project partner and has been slightly modified by me for this contribution.
