Updating the micro-depot dashboard
Project description
In recent years, micro-depots have established themselves as central components of sustainable urban logistics. They act as decentralised transfer points in the urban area and help to make delivery traffic more efficient and lower in emissions. There is a growing need for Berlin to systematically monitor the development of such locations and integrate them into strategic planning.
The inventory and associated dashboard created for the first time in 2022 provide an important basis. This information will not only be used for specialist concepts such as the integrated commercial transport concept, but will also be embedded in climate and funding policy contexts, for example in the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Programme or in the European research project UNCHAIN. This is associated with an increasing demand for the regular provision of reliable data on the number and spatial distribution of micro-depots.
The project aims to update the data for 2025 and at the same time create the methodological basis for continuous updating. To this end, practicable procedures are to be developed that enable future surveys to be implemented within the administration with little effort and high quality.
Together and in division of labour with cargobike.jetzt, I mainly work for the client:
- the creation of an efficient tool for updating data
- the update and optimisation of a dashboard for visualising Berlin's micro-depots and their development over time
(Note: The project descriptions modified by me and presented here have been created jointly by the respective project participants)
