Feasibility study on the development of a statistical platform for combined transport - CT-Stat

Project description

Combined transport (CT) is seen as a great beacon of hope for the transport revolution. To date, freight transport has only made an inadequate contribution to this, which is also due to the lack of or outdated and therefore not very reliable statistics for freight transport. CT lies. A lot of data is already collected by the public sector and companies, but is currently not comprehensively processed and shared transparently. This makes it difficult for all stakeholders to make strategic decisions and monitor the success of measures.

The aim is to find a solution for greater transparency in current developments in the CT to show. The aim is to identify and close data gaps and improve the quality and timeliness of the data. On the one hand, this should reduce the risk of bad investments and the setting of false incentives and regulations. On the other hand, the availability of "better" data should enable optimised monitoring of the success of measures taken at an earlier stage.

The aim of the "KV-Stat" project is to determine which CT-The aim is to determine which data is systematically collected by the public sector and how it can be bundled. In addition, it is important to determine which data companies resp. Stakeholders in intermodal freight transport CT and how incentives for sharing these "private sector statistics" and a joint statistics platform can be created. In addition to desk research, relevant stakeholders and their knowledge will be involved through workshops and interviews. In the course of the study, the feasibility of the content and technical path to an intermodal statistics platform will also be examined, which will serve as the basis for implementation.

Particularly when creating metadata for data from the CT and the participation formats, I support the (SGKV). The Studiengesellschaft für den Kombinierten Verkehr e.V. (SGKV) is the network coordinator in the mFUND project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs.
